    This vacancy is for a Supervisory Economist position in the Industry Sector Division, located at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis.

    The incumbent will serve as the Division Chief within the Industry Economic Accounts Directorate. The incumbent is responsible for the timely release of the benchmark input-output, annual input-output, GDP-by-Industry and Industry-related satellite accounts. Duties include providing direction to division staff; providing supervision and guidance to branch chiefs, section chiefs and program managers; setting and providing guidelines for technical objectives; The incumbent will make periodic and comprehensive evaluation of goals, objectives and plans for Industry programs, making changes and improvements, where necessary. The incumbent also helps assure integration of Industry accounts with other BEA accounts, evaluates related source data and estimating methods, and makes recommendations for improvements. In collaboration with the Industry Analysis Division Chief, the incumbent will oversee directorate-wide initiatives, including acceleration of Quarterly GDP-by-Industry estimates, and the development of implementation of various satellite accounts.

    The individual selected for this position will:

    *Major Duty 1 - Lead staff to prepare economic statistics for release to public.

    *Major Duty 2 - Plan, organize and manage resources.

    *Major Duty 3 - Lead strategic initiatives to support agency's mission.

    *Major Duty 4 - Propose and implement improvements to estimation methodologies.

    *Major Duty 5 - Communications and Customer Outreach.
