    This is a Senior Executive service Limited Term Appointment ( not to exceed three(3) years) position.

    This incumbent serves as the Digital Services Director in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) reporting to the CIO. The goal of the Digital Services Director is to establish the Digital Services Office and provide a strategic direction that will deliver best-in­class strategy, innovative technology to optimize mission needs, create enduring relationships across the Department of Justice (DOJ), and deliver measurable business impact.  The Director will work with a diverse group of stakeholders across the federal government and within DOJ to improve government digital services to identify the most effective levers for improving government digital services across DOJ, based upon quantitative and qualitative assessments of user needs.

    Responsibilities

    The Director is responsible for directing and championing the use of Digital Analytics (qualitative and quantitative measurements of website's  data, in order to improve the customer experience) across the agency. The Director provides program oversight and guidance that will address modern technological development and management approaches, drawing heavily upon best practices from the consumer internet industry such as open source and agile development processes and how they address service design, both inside and outside government, including user-centered design and development practices and modern consumer Internet technologies, to lead major initiatives, provide consultation on systems or policy proposals, and/or provide technical, policy, and programmatic guidance to Department leaders at the most senior levels. The incumbent monitors' progress, evaluates findings, and modifies all planning approaches and documents to continuously improve results and outcomes. The incumbent uses team building and government programs to leverage into applications and services by ensuring that digital data matrices address organizational outcome; allowing the incumbent to address building and scaling the organization to evolve and grow over time to fulfill its mission.

    The incumbent collaboratively develops and tests the success of department-wide standards for digital services, addressing needed milestones, leading to their adoption across citizen- and business-facing government services. The incumbent will identify, develop, and build support and tools (technical and policy) for implementing a common user experience and brand across government digital services leading DOJ Digital service operations.
