    This vacancy is for an Supervisor IT Specialist (Systems Analyst) - Information Technology Coordinator position in BEA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer located at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis.

    As a Supervisory IT Specialist (Information Technology Coordinator), the incumbent will serve as one of the principal advisors in the organization on the application of information technology to improve business processes. The incumbent is a key member of a team of senior IT personnel that directs the development, implementation, maintenance, enhancement, and operation of the Bureau’s information system, develops strategic operational IT plans and support budgets, and oversees the operation of the Bureau’s computer facilities, equipment, and telecommunications networks.

    The incumbent will assist the Chief Information Officer targets in coordinating the Bureau’s technical resources toward achievement of Bureau’s strategic goals.

    *Major Duty 1 – Provide technical direction, supervision, and leadership to a diverse technical staff.

    *Major Duty 2 – Promote the adoption of development methodologies modernized systems, and new business processes throughout the organization.

    *Major Duty 3 – Develops IT management and technical policies, procedures, and standards, and identifies and selects supporting agency software development and data standardization activities.

    *Major Duty 4 – Develop and implement the Bureau’s Operational Information Technology plan and assist in the preparation of the Information Technology budget and OU resources allocations.
