    The NASA Pathways Intern Program provides students with the opportunity to explore NASA careers and gain meaningful developmental work experience.

    The position is located in the Office of Strategic Analysis, Communications & Business Development.

    Responsibilities

    This position is part of the NASA Pathways Intern Program which is a formal training program. You may be required to perform rotational assignments in various organizations.

    Assist with planning, design and execution of a program to convey information to and inform Congress, state and local officials and their staff about NASA's missions, programs, and activities.

    Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with members of Congress, state and local officials and staff interested in the organization's program, and activities. Represents Center at congressional, state and local events and participates in meetings with Congress and elected officials.

    Assists with furnishing data and preparing written materials, presentations and briefings to inform members of Congress, staff, state and local officials on the impact and contributions of NASA and LaRC¿s missions, programs, and activities.

    Assists in the planning and implementing of LaRC and selected Agency special events, ceremonies, receptions, education programs and tours involving Congress, state and local officials. Assists in development of itineraries and logistics.

    Researches and/or analyzes aerospace related legislative bills, policy, program activities and administrative issues. Determines pertinent issues and collects relevant information from a variety of sources and prepares analysis report and recommendations. Prepares and updates databases, calendars and spreadsheets supporting legislative affairs program.

    U.S. citizens who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment on at least a half-time basis in accredited educational institutions, pursuing a Bachelor's degree. Preferred coursework: Legislative Affairs, Leadership, Team Collaboration, Communications, Ethics
