The Department of Interior's (DOI) Interior Business Center (IBC) is currently seeking bright and highly-motivated applicants for the Recent Graduates Program. The purpose of the Recent Graduates Program is to provide recently graduating students with  an entry-level developmental experience designed to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government.

This position is located in the DOI, IBC, Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD), Acquisition Management Divisions I and II. AQD provides best value acquisition solutions to the Department of Interior, Office of the Secretary, and other federal agencies. AQD is a full service acquisition organization with FAC-C certified contracting professionals supported by procurement policy and business operations. AQD partners with our customers to plan, award, and administer contracts, agreements, and grants for various supplies and services.

Duties

  • Develops acquisition solutions that meet the client's requirements, satisfy the vendor, and meet socioeconomic program objectives.
  • Solicits quotes and proposals for compliance with specifications or purchase descriptions.   
  • Participates in pre-award and post-award conferences and face-to-face meetings with program personnel, client representatives and contractors on a variety of technical, legal, and cost issues.
  • Develops unique terms and conditions that apply to special acquisitions and other purchases of a complex nature.
  • Provides administrative directions to Contracting Technical Representatives (COTR) and inspectors. Performs contract administration functions for assigned contracts; recommends contract changes, coordinates corrective actions to maintain contract compliance and resolve compliance issues.
