Are you an excellent writer who is familiar with technology and interested in innovation? The USPS OIG is seeking students enrolled in college/university programs to fill our Student Cooperative - (Paid) position in in San Francisco, CA. The selected candidate will work for the OIG's research group, the Risk Analysis Research Center (RARC). RARC conducts research on economic, business, and policy issues related to the U.S. Postal Service. RARC's staff includes experts in economics, business research, and data analysis. We are looking for a proactive student, capable of working independently, to provide a wide range of a support to RARC's Global, Digital, and Innovation team. The Student Cooperative Program is available for continuous employment throughout the year, while enrolled in school.
Candidates will be evaluated on the skills that they possess that are directly related to the duties of the position and/or the experience, education and training that indicate the applicant's ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position. Only those candidates who meet all qualification and eligibility requirements and who submit the required information by 11:59 PM EST on Thursday, September 08, 2016 will be considered.
The USPS OIG uses a Pay Banding system, which is equivalent to the Federal GS scale. Grade and salary determinations will be made based upon a candidate's education and professional experience.
This position is being advertised at the Administrative Band level. The salary range for this position is $13 - $17 per hour.
$17.65 per hour - Sophomores, including locality pay
$20.36 per hour - Juniors and Seniors, including locality pay
$23.08 per hour - Graduate Students and Law Students, including locality pay

- Research new technologies, digital innovations, and emerging business models relevant to the Postal Service.
- Engage in outreach to innovative organizations, including setting up interviews and site visits;
- Write and edit research papers, short articles, the team's bimonthly newsletter, and analytical documents for both internal and external audiences.
- Create graphics and videos to support research projects.
- Help organize workshops and roundtables; and
- Provide basic office assistance.
Occasional travel - Local travel within 50 miles from duty station
