    The Office of Innovation is responsible for NARA's Open Government and Digital Strategy efforts, the National Archives Catalog, NARA's digitization strategy and partnerships, and the National Archives' web and social media presence. To support these efforts, the Office of Innovation develops, maintains and coordinates: the description program; agency-wide business architecture; metadata standards and authorities; and provides internal digitization labs, intranet, and social media programs. The Office also manages NARA's Innovation Hub activities.The Office of Innovation works in collaboration with the Office of Information Services for all IT systems development projects.

    Typical Duties include:

    Providing Project Management over all assigned projects.

    Providing technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management on issues related accepted standards based on published Government and international standards.

    Applying guidance in analyzing, reviewing, and making recommendations concerning technical feasibility of software applications' requirements and their suitability for integration within NARA's existing or planned enterprise architecture.

    Planning and coordinating team efforts and serving as the technology specialist in developing recommendations based on technical expertise.

    Assessing needs for replacing or upgrading existing systems and solutions to maintain existing software, web, and social media systems.

    Reviewing technology applications and recommending changes in existing applications and/or identifying new directions and emphases that is necessary to solve NARA's needs and priorities.

    Maintaining liaison with and assisting NARA offices during development projects approved by NARA's Office of Innovation.

    Providing processes and procedures for system design and development. Advising NARA offices regarding cost-effective technology utilization and the risks associated with design, development and implementation of systems.

    Preparing reports for both internal and external dissemination which documents alternatives and recommendations. Presenting findings within NARA and related communities.

    Actively communicating project status, risks, issues, and updates to management.
