This position is located in an Area or State Office in USDA, Rural Development (RD). The incumbent serves and performs a variety of assignments requiring professional experience and technical competence in architectural and related construction activities, techniques, procedures, practices, and evaluations utilized in the delivery of supervised rural credit and development programs.

  • Advises members of the architectural profession and building designers on Rural Development requirements regarding the design, drawings, specifications, bidding, and construction agreement negotiation, awarding of building contracts, and supervision and inspection of construction and keeping of accounts.
  • Examines and analyzes preliminary plans, working drawings and specifications, cost estimates and all contract documents for construction projects.
  • Provides technical assistance to staff and customers on accessibility standards.
  • Prepares required reports and oversees establishment and maintenance of necessary architectural and construction records, references, and working materials.
