    Please note:  This is an open continuous announcement that will be used to fill immediate and future vacancies for this agency.  There will be multiple cut-off dates on June 14, June 28, July 13, and July 27, 2016.  Applicants who are deemed qualified for consideration may have an opportunity for an interview on July 27, 2016 and July 28, 2016 as part of the DHS Technology Job Fair.  Additional cut-off dates may be established until all vacancies have been filled.

    This announcement is issued under the direct-hire authority to recruit for positions for which there is a critical hiring need.  Selectee(s) will receive a career or career-conditional appointment in the competitive service and may be required to serve a one year probationary period.

    In this position, you will provide oversight to ensure program/project work is adhering to the larger strategic view developed by senior management at DHS and serve as the Point of Contact for elevating unexpected issues that may arise to senior leadership.

    Major duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Oversee the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.
    • Promote awareness of security issues among management and ensure sound security principles are reflected in the organization's visions and goals.
    • Conduct Privacy Impact Analysis (PIA) of the applications security design for the appropriate security controls, which protect the confidentiality and integrity of Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
    • Design a cybersecurity strategy that outlines the vision, mission, and goals that align with the organization's strategic plan.
       Assess and manage privacy risks associated with cybersecurity programs, operations, and technology and ensure compliance with agency privacy program requirements.

    Occasional travel - Occasional travel may be required based on the position requirements and mission needs as determined by the selecting Component/Office.
