    Responsibilities

    This position is assigned to the Farm Service Agency,  Louisiana State Office, Conservation Branch, located in Alexandria, Rapides County, Louisiana.

    The selectee serves as Agricultural Program Specialist in the Conservation Branch and reports to the State Executive Director. The primary duty of the selectee is administration of Geographic Information System (GIS) program for the State. The selectee administers or assists in administering the agricultural programs they are assigned responsibility for. The selectee may be assigned responsibility for the Disaster, Compliance, or other programs as needed. The selectee interprets regulations and legal requirements; resolves problems referred for State Office assistance; provides guidance to Service Center staffs; represents the agency in meetings and with contacts involving the assigned programs; and provides information to producers, the general public, and groups interested in the programs.

    Occasional travel - Travel may be up to 25%.
