    Law enforcement availability pay (LEAP) in the amount of 25% has been approved for this position. Applicants must agree to work an average of two hours extra per day to meet the requirements for LEAP described in 5 USC 5545a(d)(1).

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as a journeyman investigator responsible for independently planning, developing, and conducting criminal investigations involving highly technical computer programs and other advanced technology issues requiring exceptional levels of expertise and knowledge.
    Lead a joint investigative task force or serve as a member of a joint task force concerning network intrusions investigations, computer crime vulnerability assessments, or other investigations requiring the knowledge of a criminal investigator with advanced technology training and experience. Independently execute planning and coordination with other Federal criminal investigators and worldwide law enforcement agencies such as: the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), allied and other foreign country's national police forces, and other federal, state, and local police agencies. Share vital criminal intelligence, to plan and conduct large scale raids, or searches and conduct extensive, and often dangerous, undercover or surveillance operations with worldwide law enforcement agencies. Lead and conduct intricate or delicate criminal/computer investigations involving senior public officials or multinational corporations having continuing political or media interest.
