    This vacancy is for a Social Science Analyst (Research) position in the Associate Director for Research and Methodology, Center for Survey Measurement located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland.

    Responsibilities

    The individual selected for this position will:

    • Design, direct and conduct qualitative and quantitative studies to evaluate data quality produced by translations of questionnaires and data collection materials into non-English languages.
    • Plan and execute questionnaire development and pre-testing using methods such as, cognitive interviewing, focus groups, behavior coding or other appropriate methods.
    • Keep abreast of the literature and maintains an active presence in the language research, cultural diversity and
      survey methodology profesional communities.
    • Conduct presentations to audiences at professional conferences and other public forums.
