    The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is looking for temporary employees to work as a Fire Operations Supervisor in Idaho.

    Positions at the GS-08 level have been identified as one of the key fire management positions under the Interagency Fire Program Management (IFPM) Standard. These positions have been categorized as a Wildland Fire Operations Specialist (WFOS), and require selectee to meet the minimum qualification standards for IFPM prior to being placed into the position.     A Fire Operations Supervisor (GS-08, Supervisory Range/Forestry Technician) serves as a multi-resource Incident Commander (Type 3) during extended attack fires, directing the fire line activities and tactics of widely dispersed firefighters, resources, equipment and aircraft. Responsibilities include: operations, safety, cost, cause, logistics, law enforcement and administration. Also, performs and supervises employees in fire prevention, preparedness, detection, resource rehabilitation, mobilization, prescribed fire, aviation operations and training programs.
