    Summary

OUR MISSION: To fulfill President Lincoln’s promise – “To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan” – by serving and honoring the men and women who are America’s Veterans. How would you like to become a part of a team providing compassionate care to Veterans?

San Francisco, California is a popular tourist destination, known for its cool summers, fog, steep rolling hills, eclectic mix of architecture, and landmarks including the Golden Gate Bridge and Bay Bridge, Cable Cars, BART, Alcatraz Island and Treasure Island, the Chinatown District, beaches, Haight & Ashbury District, Fisherman’s Wharf (Pier 39), and home of the San Francisco Giants and San Francisco 49ers.

We look forward to your joining the team at the San Francisco VA Health Care System. As we are a comprehensive network that provides health services to Veterans through the San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAMC) and six community-based outpatient clinics in Santa Rosa, Eureka, Ukiah, Clearlake, San Bruno and downtown San Francisco. SFVAMC has the largest funded research program in the Veterans Health Administration with $79 million in research expenditures.

Qualified applicants might be offered an opportunity to join the Transit Benefit Program designed to encourage employees to use mass transportation in their commute to and from work in order to reduce air pollution, noise, and traffic congestion.
