    Summary

    JOB DESCRIPTION: Managerial positions involve supervision of other subordinate managers and/or supervisors, and/or direction of units, functions, or projects (which may be staffed by civilian or military personnel). Managers are responsible for justifying, directing, and allocating resources (people, budget, material) across the organization through one or more levels of supervision, and for setting organizational goals, objectives, and priorities. They handle highly complex, sensitive, or ambiguous challenges facing the organization(s); interact with, influence and persuade high-ranking officials within and outside the organization, agency and other external organizations; and make decisions that have an impact within and outside of the immediate organization and agency. Managers must supervise at least one government supervisor; they typically supervise between three to fifteen employees. Supervisory Financial Auditors provide independent assessments of, and reasonable assurance about, whether an entity's reported financial condition, results, and use of resources are presented fairly in accordance with recognized criteria. They conduct or oversee audits on NGA's financial statements and other financial-related audits. They gather and analyze information, draft findings and recommendations, and prepare reports in accordance with NGA OIG written guidance and GAO Auditing Standards. They follow-up on report recommendations to ensure appropriate corrective actions are identified and implemented.

    Responsibilities

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The NGA OIG Audit Division is seeking a supervisory auditor (job title: Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Financial & IT Audits) to oversee a team of government and contractor auditors performing financial audits and Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA) evaluations. This individual will be responsible for overseeing execution of a contract for auditors to perform the annual NGA financial statement audits and the FISMA evaluations. This individual will serve as the senior advisor and technical expert on matters pertaining to financial auditing. This individual must have Federal government financial auditing experience. This individual will participate in all aspects of the audit cycle from development an annual audit plan through follow-up on recommendations. This individual must have a strong ethical commitment to ensure the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of NGA programs. This individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as oversee the work of a team of government and contractor auditors. This individual must also have strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work on multiple tasks with short deadlines while prioritizing as necessary to meet critical needs. For this position, previous supervisory experience is required.
