The Boiler Plant Operator Supervisor is a full operating supervisor, supervising the Boiler Plant Operations of the Facility Management Service Line. The primary objective of the position is to ensure that the Medical Center Boiler Plant is kept in model working condition within available resources. The position is located at the VA Medical Center in Manchester, NH.  Some of the duties include;
* The position is considered to be a working supervisor. Additionally to supervisory responsibilities the position will be required to work rotating shifts and perform the full range of duties of a Boiler Plant Operator (WG-11). On tours when the employee works alone (which is most tours of duty) the employee serves as the operator on duty and performs these duties in addition to his/her supervisory responsibilities;
* When serving as operator on duty the employee performs all operational maintenance and repair as required to maintain plant operations. He/she will be required to perform preventative maintenance. Operate boilers in a safe efficient manner and in accordance with plant, boiler manufacturer, VA, state and federal requirements. Must be able to start, operate, adjust and stop boilers. Must be able to maintain efficient combustion levels. Operate boilers on both No.2 fuel oil and natural gas and be able to switch between fire boilers on both fuels. Detect possible hazards and make adjustments to correct. Properly add make up water, water treatment chemicals, etc., for the safe and efficient operation of the boilers;
* The position is responsible for developing and implementing a repair program for the Boiler Plant that assuring the Boiler Plant is kept in top shape in accordance with all VA and Joint Commission requirements;
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8am-4:30pm also must work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays when covering for boiler plant operators
