Performs and enforces the full range of security forces duties within the military installation. Serves as a Security Forces Dispatcher for the installation. Performs the full range of Base Entry Controller and commercial vehicle inspection duties. Performs the full range of duties for defending protection level resources (Patrol, Security Response Team (I-SRT & E-SRT). Performs other duties as assigned.

General Experience: Understanding of the basic principles and concepts of military security forces functions, laws, policies, regulations, rules, procedures, and methods. Also, have general experience performing functions such as weapon systems and resource security, air base defense, law enforcement; and, if applicable for the position, experience in handling military working dog functions or combat arms functions.


Specialized Experience: Has experiences in performing practical security force (SF) activities in direct support of the military weapon systems and physical security; law and order; or area security operations. Work experiences are in law enforcement, maintaining law and order, preserving the peace, and protecting life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of military installations. Has experiences in protecting federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accident or willful damage and destruction. Has experiences in responding to disaster and relief operations and participates in contingencies.


Special Note:


Must possess a valid state driver’s license to operate government motor vehicles (GMV)
in accordance with AFI 24-301, Vehicle Operations.


Never been convicted of domestic violence IAW the Lautenberg Amendment.

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: For entry into this specialty, completion of high school or General Equivalency Diploma is mandatory. Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified.


Applicants who are substituting education for specialized experience (totally or partially) must submit either an official transcript or a statement from the registrar, dean, or other appropriate official of the OPM approved educational institution (military schools & most technical schools included).

Other Requirements: A pre-employment physical or medical screening may be required for placement to this position Selectee will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT) program as a condition of employment.


Security Clearence Requirement: Employment is subject to attaining and maintaining a security clearance as required by the position Failure to complete prescribed courses for new personnel within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment or termination.


Note: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowance is not authorized for this position based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
