The Division's special agents investigate allegations of bribery, fraud, abuse, and violations of civil rights and other laws, policies and procedures that govern DOJ employees, contractors and grantees. Working with prosecutors, the special agents develop cases for criminal prosecution and for civil or administrative action. The Division's Special Agents have statutory law enforcement to carry firearms, make arrests, serve subpoenas and seek and execute arrest and search warrants.
These positions will be located in the Arlington, VA (Fraud Detection Office), Chicago, IL (Field Office), and the Dallas, TX (Field Office) under the Investigations Division.

The incumbent serves as an Criminal Investigator in the Arlington, VA (Fraud Detection Office), Chicago, IL (Field Office), and the Dallas, TX (Field Office) and is responsible for conducting criminal investigative and analytical assignments that include:
Analyzes initial allegations and recommends required investigative resources and collateral support; investigates allegations of crime, crime scenes, and misconduct; plans and conducts surveillances or undercover work; apprehends and arrests persons violating U.S. laws and conducts search and seizure incidents to the arrest or when appropriate by warrant; prepares reports and presents findings orally and in writing to managers, prosecutors, and other high-level officials; testifies as a government witness before Grand Juries and in court regarding criminal cases and testifies at administrative hearing in non-criminal cases.
