Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Performs the non-supervisory work of the function as needed. Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned

General Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.


Specialized Experience: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: N/A


Applicants who are substituting education for specialized experience (totally or partially) must submit either an official transcript or a statement from the registrar, dean, or other appropriate official of the OPM approved educational institution (military schools & most technical schools included).

Other Requirements: A pre-employment physical or medical screening may be required for placement to this position Selectee will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT) program as a condition of employment.


Military Compatibility: Prior to appointment to this position the selectee must be qualified for, or assigned to a compatible military position in one of the following DMOS/DAFSC Enlisted: 13D, 13M, 13P, 13R, 14E, 14T, 14Z, 15E, 29E, 35T, 91A, 91F, 91G, 91H, 91M, 91P, 91S, 91X and 91Z. Warrant Officer: BR 25, 29, 91, and 94 in any Maryland Army National Guard unit.


Security Clearence Requirement: Employment is subject to attaining and maintaining a security clearance as required by the position Failure to complete prescribed courses for new personnel within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment or termination.


Note: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowance is not authorized for this position based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
