This vacancy is for an IT Specialist (Network) position in the Office of the Chief Information Officer located at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis in Washington, DC.

The candidate will be considered a subject matter expert in administering various Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies, VMWare, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, IIS, Active Directory/GPO and several econometric software packages, including, but not limited to, AREMOS, SAS FAME and STATA.

The individual selected for this position will:

Major Duty 1: Support econometric software applications for a federal statistical agency.

Major Duty 2: Provide day-to-day Windows server operating system support, and Microsoft server application administration.

Major Duty 3: Manage VMWare, Blade servers, CommVault and Storage Area Network environments.

Major Duty 4: Maintain a secure IT infrastructure.

Major Duty 5: Serve as the IT subject matter expert, leading implementation of multiple technology-related projects simultaneously. Documenting systems administration procedures, policies, and security standards.
