This position has a Selective Placement Factor (screen-out) which will be used to determine minimum qualifications for this position. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the scheduled drug test appointment. Incumbents of drug testing designated positions will be subject to random testing. Drug test results will be provided to the employing activity/command.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Incumbent must be physically fit to climb, reach, bend, turn, move hands, arms, feet, legs, and have good hearing to operate the various vehicles and equipment. Lifts heavy chains, bars hooks etc., to make coupling between vehicle and towed equipment. Changes tires or electrical fuses on small vehicles. Loads and unloads vehicles. Heaviest weights handled average approximately 50 pounds. Objects over 50 pounds are handled with the assistance of other personnel or mechanical aids.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The incumbent works outdoors about 90% of the time. Occasionally exposed to bad weather conditions while loading and unloading cargo. Incumbent drives in all types of weather conditions. Also, drives in all types of traffic conditions upon all types of roads. Incumbent may be exposed to the possibility of serious accidents.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the incumbent to possess a class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to operate single vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of more the 26,000 pounds, and any bus (except a trailer bus). May also tow under a class "B" CDL, a single vehicle with a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or less, and any class "C" vehicles that include any two-axle vehicles with a GVWR of less than 26,001 pounds, or any three-axle vehicles weighing less than 6,000 pounds gross.
