This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Packer, WG-7002-06 without more than normal supervision such as: the full range of Packer tasks ensuring hazardous shipments comply with international, federal, state and local directives regarding packing, preserving, packaging, marking, labeling, research, documentation, classification, identification and certification prior to release for all modes of shipment. Skilled in the use of hammers, strapping tools, stapling and banding machines and other equipment utilized in packing operations. Skilled in special techniques of slot hanging, mounting, suspending and bracketing utilized in packing operations. Perform packing of hazardous and nonhazardous materials and classified items on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection; operate forklifts and material handling equipment such as jacks and levers; utilize computer/bar code technology and equipment.

Must possess and maintain a current valid state driver's license.
Must be able to obtain and maintain HAZMAT certification and recertify every two years.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination and medical recertification every two years is required.
