Credit will be given for all qualifying experience regardless of whether compensation was received or whether the experience was gained as a part-time or full-time occupation. Full-time work is generally considered to be 35 to 40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience, you must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities, month and year, and the number of hours per week spent in each position of employment. Consideration will only be given for experience, training, certifications, etc. acquired before the closing date of the vacancy announcement.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE : Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
Your total work experience and training must show/demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities to indicate ability to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position. In addition, unless you meet the SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT (KSA #1) noted below, no further consideration will be given.
You will be subject to drug testing (including: PRE-EMPLOYMENT, RANDOM, AND REASONABLE SUSPICION TESTING) during course of employment.
You are required to properly wear a National Park Service uniform in accordance with agency policy; an allowance will be provided to offset some of these costs.
You are not required to occupy government housing/quarters; however housing may be available for rent.
You are required to obtain (through applicable government training) and use a government-issued credit card.
You must hold a valid State Commercial Drivers License (CDL A). Upon hire, you will be required to attest to your possession of a current and valid State CDL A. Up to (or on) the sixth-month of employment, you will be required to submit a 3 year driving history from a state Department of Motor Vehicle proving the acquisition of these credentials as a condition of employment. If you are currently in possession, please indicate in your application: State, Type of CDL, and expiration date for your current CDL.
This is a Permanent, Full-Time positions subject to shift work, night and/or weekends, emergency call-out, considerable driving to and from all areas within the park, and may include working holidays.
You are required to complete a one-year probationary period beginning on the effective date of this appointment, unless you have already met this requirement.

You Must Possess The Following KSAs:
KSA #1: Ability to do the work of an Engineering Equipment Operator without more than normal supervision. (SCREEN OUT)
KSA #2: Must possess a Class A Commerical Drivers License with a tanker endorsement.
KSA #3: Skill in the operation of Heavy Equipment and Heavy Motor Vehicles.
KSA #4: Ability to follow work practices including keeping things neat, clean and in order
KSA #5: Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, and work orders.
KSA #6: Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and motor vehicles.
