Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team in the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) of the District of New Jersey. You will be responsible for the community-based outreach and liaison work for the USAO-NJ, three locations. Typical work assignments will include:

  • Serves as the District's Community Outreach Specialist.
  • Provides leadership and negotiating strategies, goals, and approaches to crime prevention with diverse community and organizations including racial, ethnic, economic, faith-based and social groups, bar associations, and community organizations.
  • Develops and maintains professional contacts to best accomplish the goals of DOJ and the district. Speaks to a variety of audiences, public, civic, industry, law enforcement, and special interest groups.
  • Furnishes policy guidance, develops directives for policy procedures and evaluates community outreach effectiveness.
  • Develops news talking points, speeches and makes recommendations to the USA on ways to enhance the mission and programs of the USAO.
  • Arranges and conducts special events, seminars, and workshops and other meetings with various organizations.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
