- Plans, directs, monitors, and manages the operations of a zone involving 10-60 building and facilities services, custodial, laborer, material handling, and equipment operating staff.
- Assists in the day-to-day oversight of a large cleaning operation, labor and moving services, special event coordination, material handling, and heavy equipment operation and services.
- Performs supervisory functions such as developing performance plans and standards; evaluating, training, counseling and coaching staff; ensuring staff safety, explaining Smithsonian and OFMR goals, policies, and procedures; resolving informal complaints or grievances, and initiating personnel actions.
- Coordinates with customers, contractors, other units of OFEO, and other building/zone staff; determines the materials, and number and type of workers needed to complete immediate and long-range work.
