EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: An undergraduate degree in Health Administration, Health Care Administration (or equivalent), Health Care Management, Health Management and Policy, Health Services Administration (or equivalent), Hospital Administration (or equivalent), or related fields such as: Primary Care Management. Other completed degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Information Systems Management, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering and Health Management/Health Systems Engineering, Operations Research or other closely-related degree fields.
A graduate degree in Health Administration, Health Care Administration (or equivalent), Heath Care Management, Health Management and Policy, Health Services Administration (or equivalent), Hospital Administration (or equivalent), Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Information Systems Management, or other business-related equivalent.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of one year on-the-job experience in the grade immediately below the next higher level. Must have validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 36 months of specialized experience, education, or training which provided a working knowledge of the principles and practices related to the management of health care delivery systems. Experience analyzing and recommending solutions to complicated problems related to health systems. Experience must include a thorough knowledge of missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems. Experience briefing senior leaders on related subjects. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
NOTE: REGARDING QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignment must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.
MILITARY GRADES: Maximum Military Grade O4; Minimum Military Grade O2; Military grade inversion within the full time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of the personnel supervised.
Compatible Military Assignments: Officer: 67A, 67J, 70B, 70H. Must be AMEDD qualified to be considered for this position.
Individual does not have to be currently assigned to one of these career fields to be considered for this position; however compatibility requirements must be met prior to appointment to the position.
