You will serve as a Health Specialist in the Clinical Research Resources Branch and provide scientific, administrative and technical oversight for large HIV/AIDS clinical research support contracts(s).

This position is located in the Clinical Research Resources Branch (CRRB), Office for Policy in the Clinical Research Operations Branch, Division of AIDS, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). The CRRB provides critical Division-wide HIV/AIDS clinical research support services through the development and administration of large-scale contracts.  You will serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative for one or more of these contracts. As such, you will be the primary technical interface to contractors to ensure appropriate delivery of services according to contract requirements and interface with staff to review resources requirements for clinical trials, coordinate access to Divison-wide resources, avoid duplicative clinical trial support activities, and encourage a standardized approach to clinical trials support.

Basic Requirements:

You must possess a degree in a major study in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.


In addition, you must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following tasks:  developing and implementing changes to improve a biomedical research organization's research structure, organization, and staff; planning and conducting research related to infectious disease pathogens; coordinating the development and internal review of biomedical or behavorial infectious diseases research solicitations; administering a portfolio of investigator-initiated biomedical or behavorial infectious diseases research project grants, cooperative agreements and/or contracts; ensuring effective communication and information exchanges with staff at research institutions and/or clinical trial sites; writing and editing memoranda, correspondence, and other documents of a biomedical research nature; and managing, developing or assisting in the design of clinical trials management systems.
