About the Agency

Want to work for a contemporary water management agency whose mission is to assist in meeting the increasing water demands of the West while protecting the environment and the public's investment? Join the staff of the Bureau of Reclamation as a Student Trainee. This is a student internship opportunity under the Pathways Program. The major objective of the Pathways Program is to employ students, giving them a chance to work in a Federal agency and resume or continue their education without interruption caused by financial pressure. Students appointed may work part-time while school is in session and full-time (depending upon the needs of the agency) when students are on a vacation period or whenever the school is officially closed.

This is a temporary Student Internship opportunity under the Pathways Program.

Brief Description of Duties: The incumbent assists in the oversight of resources management contracts; collects, compiles, and analyzes data for various reports; conducting field/sampling surveys and documenting findings, analyses, and recommendations; writing short-term studies using established fact finding and evaluation procedures; and attending guided tours to familiarize the incumbent with types and locations of resources managed by Reclamation.

Applicants must meet the Basic Education Qualification Requirements listed below:

GS-03: Completion of 1 full academic year of post-high school study leading to a degree with specialization in or directly related to Natural Resources.

An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university.

GS-04: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study leading to a degree with specialization in or directly related to Natural Resources.

Two academic years of undergraduate education is defined as 60 semester hours, 90 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university.

All applicants must be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment at least half-time in an accredited institution and provide proof of enrollment to be eligible for this position. You must submit a copy of your transcripts (unofficial copy is acceptable) to support your education.
