JOB SUMMARY:

MINNESOTA AIR NATIONAL GUARD This position is located in the Air National Guard, Mission Support Group, Logistics Readiness Squadron.   Its purpose is to be the point of contact for the Logistics Readiness Squadron mobility and training activities.   Manages Supply customer training and provides the Logistics Readiness Squadron forces with training and resources for Mobility operations.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible AFSC in the Minnesota Air National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently enlisted in the Minnesota Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate enlistment or appointment. Reviews and evaluates all operations, mobility,contingency and exercise plans to ensure combat readiness for the Logistics Readiness Squadron.   Analyzes exercise and contingency plans to determine required Logistics Readiness Squadron actions in support of mission requirements. Incumbent evaluates all equipment, manning and training requirements to meet deployment and pre-planned tasking. The position is responsible for coordination with other base organizations on applicable plans.   This position manages the development of plans for deployments, contingency response, expeditionary support planning, sustainment, and redeployment. Develops, manages and controls Logistics Readiness Squadron Training and career development programs.   Incumbent is responsible for Automated Training Systems, products, and a multimedia library and for developing training policies and procedures. This position provides training guidance and/or assistance to work center supervisors. Compiles and updates status of Logistics Readiness Squadron, to include tracking and reporting of personnel, training, equipment and supplies. The position is responsible for generation of reports and for the assignment of proper security, classification and storage of classified documents. Compiles and prepares Status of Resources and Training System and Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) Readiness Tool reports and provides status and readiness briefings to Squadron and Wing commanders.   Identifies shortfalls and recommends corrective actions.  The incumbent monitors personnel deployability.   The incumbent implements local directives for the establishment and management of Personnel Readiness folders. Coordinates,develops, and administers management training programs for supervisory personnel. This job involves providing guidance to section supervisors in the selection of Enlisted Specialty Training (EST) trainers and task certifiers. Develops local training programs to accommodate supply procedural changes, and coordinates changes to other career field areas as directed, to improve operational effectiveness when management indicators reflect potential trouble areas. Manages and conducts inspections of all squadron training areas to ensure that records are maintained in accordance with established directives. Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:   Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field.  Experience using computer and automation systems.


SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  GS-09 requires 24 months experience, education,or training involving detailed knowledge of organizations and their functions in logistical support (i.e., supply, maintenance, quality assurance,facilities).  Experience integrating actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to meet program goals.  Experience interpreting and applying regulations, laws or practices.  Experience planning and organizing work assignments.

COMPATIBILE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT:   2S0X1 AFSC

MILITARY COMPATIBILITY:   Upon selection, individual must be assigned to a compatible military position and must also maintain satisfactory membership in the Minnesota National Guard.

EVALUATION FACTORS:  Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of appropriate education, experience, training, self-development activities, and special awards. Candidates are considered on the basis of available information on their current application and supporting information that has been provided to this office. National Guard military (Part-time) service is considered as full-time experience when evaluated against the qualification requirements for a technician position. The applicant is credited with actual number of months the member has been in the National Guard if the experience is related.

Area 1: Career/Career-Conditional technicians and Indefinite technicians assigned to the 133rd Airlift Wing.

Area 2: Career/Career-Conditional technicians and Indefinite technicians Statewide (148th Fighter Wing and MN Army National Guard) who were initially hired based on a posted job vacancy.

Area 3: Minnesota National Guard technicians who have not previously competed and traditional Minnesota National Guard members.

Area 4: National Guard technicians from other states and civilian persons eligible for membership in the Minnesota Air National Guard.

REMARKS: No PCS available.   Position will not be filled until current incumbent vacates. Members with rank higher than identified in 'key requirements' are eligible to apply but, may be required to take a reduction should they be selected.  The military grade of the supervisor must equal or exceed the grade of personnel supervised. Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123 is required.   This position is subject to rules and regulations of the USAF and the ANG, to include fitness standards, as well as any AFSC specific requirements.   This is a dual status position.

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Enlisted (AMN/E2 - TSgt/E6)

 

Acceptance of a Technician position will result in the termination of your Selected Reserve bonus.
