This position is located in the Support Equipment (SE) Branch, Product Evaluation Verification Division of the SE and Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) Department of the Engineering Group in Cherry Point, NC.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

  • 50% or Greater
  • Selectee will be required to travel up to 60% of the time and for extended periods. Travel may be to ships at sea or shore-based activities in the continental US or overseas. Travel may require boarding military passenger-carrying aircraft. Selectee may be required to travel within a 24-hour notification.

-      The selectee will perform test workload as directed.

-      Maintains liaison with the Naval Air Systems Command and furnishes consultant services as required.

-      Serves as a technical specialist in the area of ATE systems test and evaluation of operational requirements for Common Naval ATE Systems.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:  Experience includes installing, modifying, repairing and maintaining Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) support Systems and associated Test Program Sets (TPS) as directed.

 

This position also has a Selective Place Factor (SPF). Failure to possess the SPF will result in an ineligible rating. Possession of this factor must be verifiable via resume and the occupational questionnaire. Your resume must clearly demonstrate that you possess the knowledge and skill at a highly qualified level. The SPF is: Are you experienced with using, maintaining, troubleshooting and developing Test Programs on the Automatic Wire Test Set (AWTS) to support multiple aircraft platforms?

REQUIREMENTS:

This is a Noncritical-Sensitive IT-II position.  It meets one or more of the Category II AIS (Low/Moderate Risk) criteria of SECNAV M-5510.30, dtd June 2006, and if misused, has the potential of causing serious impact/damage to national security.
