* Perform a variety of work incident to operation and maintenance of equipment and structures connected with fish passage and protective equipment, storage reservoirs and water conveyance systems.

* Perform at the journeyman level in at least one of these crafts: general mechanics, millwright, machinist, metal fabrication, welding, carpentry, concrete worker, masonry, mobile equipment/crane operations, painting, or plumbing.

* Equipment includes such items as hydraulically, electrically and mechanically controlled slide/radial gates and related controls, jet flow gates and other types of valves and gates handling large volumes of water.

* Structures include fish screens, fish ladders, reservoir embankments, gate houses, outlet works, concrete spillways, stilling basins, observation wells, gaging stations, irrigation delivery systems and other related facilities.

* Knowledge and skills on mobile equipment including heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, bobcats, mowing tractors, forklifts, boom trucks, dump trucks with trailer, and man lifts.

Requires a general knowledge and skill in several craft areas, but must also possess a journeyman level of knowledge in at least one of the following crafts: general mechanics, millwright, machinist, metal fabricator, welder, carpenter, concrete worker, mason, mobile equipment / crane operator, painter, plumber and similar craft duties.

Category rating and selection procedures will be used to evaluate applications from this announcement. 4. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading).
5. Technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) and knowledgeable in safety procedures and regulations.

Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are determined by evaluation of job elements. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all of the job elements in order to be considered qualified for this position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and use lifting devices such as jacks, hoists and cranes. May perform work requiring the use of a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), air filtration mask or other respiratory devices. May work in close restricted quarters, on or around moving equipment, in hazardous areas with hazardous materials.
