About the Agency

This vacancy is for a Student Trainee (Administration and Office Support) at the Bureau of Economic Analysis, located in Washington, D.C. The Pathways Internship Program (IP) targets students accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program (diploma, certificate, etc.) in an accredited/qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis. (Applicants who do not meet the definition of student, will not be considered). Internships can be seasonal (spring, summer, fall) or year-round. At the successful conclusion of this program, you may be eligible for non-competitive conversion to a ZA (0326) Office Automation Clerk. Interns may work full-time or part-time schedules.

It is important to remember that eligibility for conversion does not guarantee that the agency will decide to opt for conversion.

The individual selected for this position will work in the Logisitics Management Section and perform the following duties:

Assist with a wide variety of admin and support services such as mailroom operations, labor services and customer service requests.

Receive and discusss requirements from customers to provide timely and accurate, quality service.

Communicate in person and in writing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must be a student currently enrolled in college pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate. Certificate programs must be one academic year in duration. Must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA.


GRADE LEVEL REQUIREMENTS: In addition to meeting the Minimum Qualification Requirements above, applicants must have the education listed below.

To qualify for GS-7 (or Band II equivalent): Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education; or Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor's degree.

OR:

Specialized experience: 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level
