Experience: You qualify for this position if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position specialized experience is defined as researching and negotiating the use of copyrighted images from external parties for the use in exhibitions, publications, and/or public programs and providing recommendations to project teams on the use of specific images based on copyright considerations in a museum, historic site, or cultural organization/institution setting.
Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.
Or Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree related to the position or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related to the position may be substituted to meet the experience requirements.
Or a Combination: Education and experience may be combined to meet the basic qualifications.

- Knowledge of U.S. and foreign copyright laws and publication procedures as it pertains to the use of copyrighted work and relates to use of materials by others and permissions granted.
- Knowledge of image search techniques and museum, archive or library databases.
- Knowledge of museum operations in order to anticipate and coordinate copyright requests.
- Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
