VA Montana Health Care System at Fort
Harrison is a 43 bed, JCAHO accredited facility currently providing inpatient
medical/surgical, and outpatient ambulatory medical, surgical and behavioral
health care. We also have a 24 bed inpatient unit for Behavioral Health
Services for Montana veterans. Kalispell has a community based outpatient clinic with behavioral health services. Kalispell and the Flathead Valley are home to Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, championship golf courses, two ski resorts, unlimited trails for hiking and lakes and streams for fishing, outstanding arts and culture, charming small towns and warm western hospitality.

GS-0180, Behavioral Health Unit. One, full time, permanent position. This
position is located in Behavioral Health Service at the VA Montana Health Care
System, Kalispell, MT. Hours of work: Monday Friday (typically 8:00am-4:30pm). Extended hours (after 4:30pm) may be required.
NOTE: The Professional Standards Board (a peer-review group) will review the selected candidates education and experience and recommend the step at which the candidate will be placed in that specific grade. The salary is based on the grade and step approved for the selected candidate.

The incumbent serves as the Staff Clinical
Psychologist for the VA Montana Health Care System, Behavioral Health Unit,
providing evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with a variety of
neurological, psychiatric, and medical conditions, including traumatic brain
injury. S/he provides comprehensive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic
interventions including; individual, group, and family psychotherapy, caregiver
stress support, and evidence-based psychotherapies primarily within the outpatient settings. The
incumbent as well has the expertise required to provide comprehensive
psychometric assessment of psychiatric and cognitive disorders. The incumbent develops,
implements, and documents the psychotherapeutic treatment plans for an assigned
caseload of patients, including prompt completion of clinical reminders. The
incumbent participates as a consultant in outpatient and inpatient
multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment activities. The incumbent provides
education to patients, family members, and significant others.
