About the Agency

The NASA Pathways Intern Program provides students with the opportunity to explore NASA careers and gain meaningful developmental work experience. This is an internship position as part of a work/study program. The work involves trainee duties at NASA located at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), FL. This position is for students that have been accepted for enrollment or are currently enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma) in a qualifying educational institution on a full or half-time basis.

Students may be placed in KSC organizations such as The Ground Processing Directorate, or the Engineering and Technology Directorate.

The following major(s) are preferred: Atmospheric Physics or Physics.

This is an excepted service position.


This position is part of the NASA Pathways Intern Employment Program (IEP) which is a formal training program. Participant completes assigned duties, tasks, readings, and developmental activities specified in the Program. Participants receive formal periodic assessments of progress. You may be required to perform rotational assignments in various organizations.

The participant will be performing more intermediate physical science duties to include working in the dust mitigation lab, conducting studies, indepth field studies, analyis, and atmospheric physics.
