GS-9: To be qualified at the GS-9 level, you must have at least ONE year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service, OR Education, OR a Combination of both Specialized Experience and Education.
Specialized Experience is defined as: performing technical and analytical work involving automated litigation support services. Examples of specialized experience: installing modified litigation support hardware and software; maintaining litigation support equipment inventory; testing the configuration of litigation support resources used for transmission of information in data, advising others on the technical development of applications, making recommendations on software applications to best meet customer needs, and providing training to attorneys or legal support staff on the use of software and database applications.
Education: must possess a Masters degree or an equivalent graduate degree OR two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Masters degree or equivalent graduate degree in a related field, such as computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
Combination of Education and Specialized Experience: specialized experience as described above and graduate education as described above which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. (Only graduate education in excess of one full year is creditable.) To calculate your percentage of education, first determine the total number of hours that exceed 18 semester hours or your schools definition of one full year of graduate study. Then divide the total number of your excess semester hours by 18 or your schools definition of one year of study. To calculate your percentage of qualifying experience, divide your total number of months of qualifying experience by 12. Now, add the two percentages together. The sum of the percentages must equal at least 100%.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
