Colorado National Guard Dual Status Technician Announcement Technicians are employed under the authority of Title 32 USC, Section 709, which states, in part, that technicians are to be employed in "the administration and training of the National Guard," and "the maintenance and repair of supplies issued to the National Guard."

Technician Note:  The compatible MOS for this position is 90A.  Failure to maintain MOS compatibility can result in termination.


If you don't hold the MOS you must be able to obtain within one year of hire.





This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters—State, Logistics Directorate (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility.  The purpose of this position is to provide overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions.  Participates with management officials in the planning and establishment of long-range work requirements and schedules.  Serves as the highest-level subject matter expert in the organization for work accomplished.  Work activities and functions are typically controlled through two or more levels of supervision.  The occupation and non-supervisory grade level which best reflects the nature of the overall work operations supervised is Surface Maintenance Mechanic, WG-5801-11.

Major Duties:

Plans overall allocation of personnel and resources for the organization.  Explains work requirements to subordinate supervisors, sets deadlines and sequence of operations.  Recommends promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors and reviews personnel actions prepared by supervisors.  Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised.  Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 
1. Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
2. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. 
3. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. 
4. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. 
5. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. 
6. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.  


Preferred Experience: 

 Must have Maintenance Management Expierence


Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position

Military Requirements Military skill set is determined by MOS requirements.  Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the MOS.  Specific requirements are found in: references listed below, NGB Compatibility tables and your local Personnel section.


*Other Requirements For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver’s license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.


For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
