About the Agency

The Naval Intelligence Community spans across many organizations that provide direct support to the Navy, Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard and various Joint and Fleet Commands.   Gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the Navy relative to the broader Intelligence Community and work side by side with your fellow companions throughout the DOD and various other intelligence agencies.

Serve as a Facilities Operations Specialist at the GG-12 level responsible for coordination and execution of facilities maintenance, upgrades, and modifications, utilizing broad knowledge of those facilities and the unique requirements of the operations therein.  This position is located in Quantico, VA.

  • Facilitate Building Systems reviews of: HVAC, Electrical (and Standby generators), Lighting, Mechanical, Plumbing (and Fire Protection systems), Vertical transportation, Structural, Roofing, and Building Envelope.
  • Collabarate with Facilities team to improves the organizational processes, practices, and sustainment of operations.
  • Coordinate facilities efforts internal to the command, Serves as liaison between the command and Public Works (PW), Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) and Quantico Base Maintenance for issues such as service contracts, repair/construction contracts, utility outages, and service call requests.
  • Review Base Maintenance personnel and contractor work, verifying that work is completed correctly, that the quality of work is acceptable, and that maintenance issues are managed in a timely manner.
  • Work with Maintenance Management Systems-Computer Assisted Facilities Management Systems (CAFM) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) that support the operation goals of the command.
  • Work in partnership with the Security Personnel to control ingress/egress of personnal, controlled access to MCIA’s resources, ensure backup power requirement are met, and emergency lighting are in good work order.
  • Review progress on all active facility projects, prepares progress/after action reports, resolves design or schedule problems, and provides feedback to the customer until a task is complete.
  • Demonstrate ability to assess how changes to facility management technologies will impact current infrastructure, process, and building systems.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Evaluate the conditions, maintenance and repair of federal facilities, grounds and utilites; 2) Ensure day to day maintenance and repair work is completed as well as any unusual or emergency work; 3) Oversee and document preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance on automated system equipment; 4) Provide technical assistance and facilities input to engineering, budgetary and administrative personnel as related to plans and programming.

A Top Secret security clearance is a requirement of this position and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Federal employees currently serving in the competitive service must also acknowledge that they will voluntarily leave the competitive service by accepting an offer of employment for a DCIPS position. This acknowledgement is necessary as movement between the excepted service and competitive service may be limited if the employee does not possess competitive status.


All new DCIPS employees must successfully complete a two-year trial period.
