Basic Requirements for the GS-601 series, Health Scientist:
Degree: major study in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement for Health Scientist, GS-0601-11/12 you must meet the following:
One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service, to include experience assisting in the development of research protocols, studies or projects that support the development of public health education initiatives, literature reviews, and analysis of scientific survey results.
B. Have a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that is directly related to Health Sciences or Allied Sciences appropriate to the work of the position.
C. Have a combination of experience as described in "A" above and education as described in "B" above.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, to include experience in developing research protocols and conducting scientific surveys, studies or projects that support the development of public health education initiatives.
