About the Agency
The Federal Trade Commission, Office of the General Counsel seeks highly motivated individuals to work in Washington, DC, assisting with administering the Commissions Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Program. The Program reviews and responds to all requests for records that the agency receives; and is available to provide litigation support to the agency as needed.

You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade in the Federal service, which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
At the GS-7 level, applicants must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal Service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
To be creditable, this experience must include knowledge of and experience with assisting in investigations and litigation of antitrust and consumer protection matters and conducting legal and relevant industry research and producing written and oral reports based on interviews, research and data analysis. OR, one (1) full year of graduate level education or Superior Academic Achievement (3.0 undergraduate GPA) may be substituted for experience requirements in accordance with Administrative and Management Qualifications Standard found at: http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/SEC-IV/A/gs-admin.asp.
The successful candidate possesses strong research, analytical, and writing skills and the ability to learn new computer skills quickly. Applicants should be self-starters, be able to work under pressure and be able to handle multiple simultaneous assignments.
