Location: This position is within the Office of Acquisition and Logistics, Technology Acquisition Center in Austin, Texas.

Duties

Major Duties:

As a Supervisory Contract Specialist in the IT Operations/System Acquisition Division, the job incumbent will be responsible for:  

• Assisting the Senior Manager in planning, managing, and overseeing acquisitions in support of VA and the Technology Acquisition Center (TAC) activities.

• Formulating and recommending policies pertaining to acquisition planning, procurement, and contract administration.

• Evaluating effectiveness and economy of the Technology Acquisition Center (TAC) procurement activities, and providing the necessary research in the broad aspects of procurement management.

• Representing the Senior Manager on intergovernmental matters.

• Conducting a program of quality control to assure that the TAC procurement program is carried out in accordance with accepted procurement criteria established within the Federal Government.

• Analyzing markets, preparing market forecasts, developing market sources, and maintaining favorable relations with vendors.
