THIS IS A PERMANENT POSITION

 

This position is located in the Military Personnel Flight (MPF), Mission Support Group at an Air National Guard (ANG) flying wing.  It’s primary purpose is to plan, organize, administer, and troubleshoot the operation and data base integrity of the Military Personnel Data System in support of military human resources management functions.  Serves as the primary point of contact to ensure the effective operation of satellite human resources interface with United States Air Force (USAF) servers and related human resources computers both hardware and software.  Provides training on utilization of the different components of the Military Personnel Data System (MILPDS).  Provides technical guidance regarding the overall scope of the MILPDS and interfacing systems to identify and solve personnel system related problems, which could inhibit or prevent a high state of readiness.

GENERAL:  Experience, education or training which involves the exercise of analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and personal responsibility, and application of a substantial body of knowledge of principles, concepts and practices applicable to one or more fields of administration or management.  Experience using computer and automation systems.

 

Human Resources Specialist (Military), GS-0201-07: Must have at least 12 months experience, education, or training involving the administering, delivering, maintaining, advising, and adapting basic concepts, principles, and theories of Human Resources to the unique organizational, management, and mission requirements.

 

Human Resources Specialist (Military), GS-0201-09: Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training involving the administering, delivering, maintaining, advising, and adapting basic concepts, principles, and theories of Human Resources to the unique organizational, management, and mission requirements.

 

TRAINEE POSITION: Applicants not meeting full qualifications for the GS-09osition indicated above may be considered for GS-07 trainee, if qualified. Statement-of-Difference of qualification requirements for each are indicated. If appointed as trainee, the selectee may be non-competitively promoted to GS-09 upon meeting full qualifications and recommendations of supervisor

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: The following knowledge's, skills, and abilities will be used by the selecting officials to determine the best qualified applicants from which selection will be made: 

 

1. Knowledge of and ability to read, interpret and apply military human resources procedures and instructions.
2. Ability to apply analytical and evaluative techniques to resolve issue, prevent and solve problems and track manning changes.
3. Ability to utilize information systems in order to track and maintain manning changes and resolve related human resources issues.
4. Ability to plan, organize and communicate effectively to meet deadlines.
5. Skill in utilizing computer hardware, software applications to resolve complex problems.


SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: A maximum of 12 months of the required experience may be substituted by successful completion of undergraduate study in an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours. The education must have been in fields directly related to the type of work of the position.

**Course work in fields closely related to those specified may be accepted if it clearly provides applicants with the background of knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance.**
