As a Technical Information Specialist (Web Content Specialist) located in the Division of Education, Outreach, & Information (DEOI), Office of Analytics and Outreach (OAO), in the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) you will serve as web or multimedia content specialist for several broad subject areas for CFSN's Internet and Intranet sites, provide content development, editorial work, information organization and page management for your assigned areas.

  • Markets CFSAN's web-based information products.
  • Develops standard operating procedures for tracking/managing projects.
  • Provides consultation for the development and promotion of new uses of digital communications to improve the way the center does business.
  • Serves on Agency's internet and intranet committees providing input on web page design and content.

Applicants must have the basic requirements AND the specialized experience as described below:



A.  A full 4-year course of study that meets all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in technical information. (Must submit transcripts)  OR

B.  Four years of experience that provided a knowledge of the basic principles, theories, practices, techniques, and terminology of a discipline or subject-matter field; an understanding of the standard methods, procedures, and techniques of research and analysis in the subject-matter field; Such experience must have been equivalent to that which would have been gained through a 4-year college curriculum.  OR

C. A combination of education and experience as described in "A" and "B" above. (Must submit transcripts)



Have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service, managing the development of web or multimedia content for internet and intranet sites; providing content development, editorial work, information organization, and page management for assigned areas; and communicating with a diverse professional audience.

This position requires specific coursework and/or a degree to meet the basic education requirement. You must submit an official transcript, unofficial transcript, or a list including courses, grades earned, completion dates, and quarter and semester hours earned. Your transcript(s) must clearly demonstrate the course(s) listed in the qualification requirement section. Conditions of Employment:
