NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the New York Air National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
This position is located in an Air National Guard (ANG) State Headquarters (HQ), Engineering Installation Squadron (EIS) , whose mission is to engineer, install, remove, and/or perform maintenance on Command and Control, Communications, Computer and Information (C4I) systems and facilities.
OPEN AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: STATEWIDE
STATEWIDE: ALL MILITARY TECHNICIANS IN THE NEW YORK AIR NATIONAL GUARD, ALL MEMBERS OF THE NEW YORK AIR NATIONAL GUARD (INCLUDES AGR).
The primary purpose is to perform duties as a Base level Systems Telecommunications Engineering Manager (STEM-B). Responsibilities include development of short and long-term planning, programming, and funding strategies and providing guidance and assistance concerning deployment of C4I systems. Incumbent interprets and provides ANG guidance to base planning officials regarding preparation of planning and funding strategies, and ensures ANG communications and computer systems programs are integrated and implemented through cost-effective solutions. Incumbent is responsible for the development of the Base C4I Systems Blue Prints for multiple ANG Bases within a specific geographical region. This position performs duties necessary to ensure that base level C4I systems meet customer requirements and conform to ANG communications and computer architecture standards.
