The incumbent serves as a Financial Systems Analyst in the Office of Administrative Services, Business Technology Division, Branch as Assigned. The incumbent provides financial and technical analysis and conducts special projects that relate to any Office of Administrative Services systems, including but not limited to Oracle, Discoverer, Concur, Prism, webTA, Citidirect, and IPAC.
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Participates in the management and maintenance of financial systems utilized by the Administrative Resource Center. These systems are comprised of personal computers, terminal servers, interfaces, complicated and high-speed communications systems, and manual processes.
- Trains users on how to use the financial systems. This includes developing the training materials such as exercises and handouts, explaining how to enter transactions, query the systems, and run various reports.
- Writes clear and concise reports for a diverse audience. Writes well-organized reports that include texts and graphs as appropriate. Although the reports contain technical information and complex analysis the final product is easy to understand by the target audience.
- Manages special projects that can cover the range of office activities from systems analysis through financial analysis. Converts broad conceptual approaches into specific action items and recommendations. Sometimes acts as team leader and coordinates across office lines.
