To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the specialized experience AND basic requirements as described below:
Specialized Experience: Experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and is equivalent to the next lower grade level.
GS-07 - One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level or equivalent which involved experience updating and revising automated spreadsheets; manipulating information on an automated accounting system in an office setting; experience with debit and credit accounting in an office setting; and maintaining records, compiling reports, compiling figures, or performing similar procedural work of two or more sections.
GS-08 - One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level or equivalent which involved a working knowledge of accounting, budget, automated financial systems usage; examining accounting documents for proper accounting classification and authorization, reconciliation activities and financial regulations, laws and requirements; identifying and resolving errors and discrepancies involving automated accounting systems.
GS-09 - One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-08 grade level or equivalent which involved analyzing and reconciling defined contribution record keeping accounts that have a variety of transactions such as loan payments, loan disbursements, withdrawals, contributions, inter-fund transfers; and breakage adjustments and require an analysis of adjustments and corrective entries; researching and adjusting differences between general ledger and subsidiary accounts for defined contribution retirement record keeping data and recommending actions to prevent reoccurrence; examining accounting documents for proper accounting classification and authorization; and preparing regular and ad-hoc financial reports.

The score is a measure of the degree to which your background matches the knowledge, skills and abilities required of this position. If you meet the qualification requirements, your application will be placed in one of three categories: Best Qualified, Well Qualified, or Qualified. Within these categories, applicants eligible for veteran's preference will receive selection priority over non-veterans.
Best Qualified - Meets the minimum qualification requirements and excels in most requirements of the position.
Well Qualified - Meets the minimum qualification requirements and meets most requirements of the position.
Qualified - Meets the minimum qualification requirements, but does not possess the relevant competencies to a substantive degree.
