Duties

This Program Analyst position is located in the Workforce Engagement Branch, Workforce Engagement & Development Division (WEDD), within the Office of Training and Workforce Engagement (OTWE), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS).  If selected, you will be providing seasoned and consultative advice, guidance, and instruction on social media-based innovation and engagement programs such as Idea Factory and Storyline to address diverse issues that may be complex and may cross multiple projects/program areas within OTWE and TSA.  Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizing qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze program data; identifying and evaluating options; and formulating recommendations on engagement issues and trends for senior leadership.
  • Identifying, developing, and maintaining mutually beneficial external partnerships linked with relevant internal stakeholders.  Reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of existing partnerships to identify areas of improvement, and propose recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Delivering and assessing written communications for a variety of engagement programs, such as drafting communication plans; creating material for websites to encourage interaction with the audience; downloading, editing and producing material to generate stories and ideas; researching and selecting material providing background to media stories/ideas; and using various software and media to communicate/provide information such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
 

The major duties described above reflect the full performance level of this position. Typically, the lower pay band (SV-H Band) performs the same duties but will receive more guidance and training; and/or projects/work assignments may be less complex.
