The USDA Forest Service has legislative authority to recruit and fill Permanent (Career/Career-Conditional), Temporary, and Term Appointments under the USDA Demonstration Project. Under this authority, any U.S. citizen may apply.
This position is located in the Intermountain Region (R4), Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, Heber-Kamas Ranger District located in Heber City, Utah. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform timber sale preparation duties that include timber marking, timber cruising, sale layout, and providing supervision to a small team of employees who are part of the timber organization on the Forest.

The incumbent of this position will be guaranteed 13 pay periods of full-time work. However, there may be a possibility to work additional days/pay periods. The incumbent will then be placed in non-pay/ non-duty status for the remainder of the year.
