This position designs, develops, produces, and integrates computer-generated two and three dimensional models, animations, graphics, and media elements using high-end authoring software; programs and scripts media objects to achieve desired effects and behaviors; and delivers media objects through a variety of multimedia technologies. This position starts at a salary of $47,923 (GS-09). In this position, you will be an Educational Technology Specialist responsible for the design, development, production, and integration of computer-generated two and three dimensional models, animations, graphics, and media elements using high-end authoring software; programming and scripting media objects to achieve desired effects and behaviors; and delivering media objects through a variety of multimedia technologies Typical assignments include:

  • Assist in the design, development, production, and integration of computer-generated two and three dimensional models, animations, graphics, and media elements using cross-platform hypermedia and high-end authoring software.
  • Assist in the programming and scripting of two and three dimensional models, animations, graphics, and media elements to achieve desired effects.
  • Collaborates with a senior specialist and project team members to design and develop educational technology elements and products using the most appropriate technologies and delivery strategy.

The qualification requirements listed below must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.


You qualify for this position at the GS-09 level (starting salary $39,179) if you possess one of the following:

One full year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level that demonstrates experience in designing, developing, producing, and integrating computer-generated two and three dimensional models, animations, graphics, and media elements using high-end authoring software; programming and scripting media objects to achieve desired effects and behaviors; and delivering media objects through a variety of multimedia technology.

OR
Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR have 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

OR
Combination of education and experience  

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

We will review your resume and supporting documentation to ensure you meet the basic qualification requirements.  If you meet the minimum qualifications, we will use a job questionnaire to place you in one of three categories based on your experience, education and training. The competencies or knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform this job are:

  • Skill in the development of two and three dimensional models and the operations of associated software and computer hardware necessary to produce games and audiovisual elements.
  • Skill in the development of graphics, video, and audio media elements and the operation of associated software and computer hardware necessary to produce games, graphics, and audiovisual elements.
  • Skill in programming formats required to produce models, animations, graphics, and media elements.
  • Knowledge of design, development, and distribution of educational technology elements using the most appropriate delivery means
If you meet the minimum qualifications, you will be placed in one of the following categories:
  1. Best Qualified: Applicants possessing a background that demonstrates a superior level of all evaluation criteria.
  2. Well Qualified: Applicants possessing a background that demonstrates a satisfactory level of the evaluation criteria.
  3. Qualified: Applicants possessing the basic qualifications, with general knowledge, skills, and abilities.
