As a Computer Scientist in the Office of Business Informatics (OBI), Office of Strategic Programs (OSP), Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), you will be responsible for leading break-through informatics initiatives and transforming regulatory operations across the human drug review program.

You must meet the Basic Requirement AND the Specialized Experience specified below:


Basic Requirement:  

Possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS).

*** Applicants should have sufficient knowledge to understand the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer science. Courses designed to provide an introduction to computer science techniques and methodologies, to problems of system design, and to other specialized fields are acceptable. Courses or experience in teaching elementary, business, or shop mathematics are not acceptable.

Specialized Experience:

GS-13:  At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that included: leading multifunctional teams in assessing and recommending new business operations (i.e. change management, business process mapping); translating customer business requirements into workable business solutions; and planning and directing systems implementation.

This position requires specific coursework and/or a degree to meet the basic education requirement. You must submit an official transcript, unofficial transcript, or a list including courses, grades earned, completion dates, and quarter and semester hours earned.  Your transcript(s) must clearly demonstrate the course(s) listed in the qualification requirement section. If the transcript(s) does not clearly demonstrate this you must submit a copy of the course description and/or other documentation demonstrating that the courses are equivalent. Degree requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this job announcement and your transcript(s) submitted must reflect this.
